ACTUAL USES OF IECO BANDS

The most popular sizes and use of bands are made of natural rubber and are produced in two levels of conductivity.

WHITE RUBBERBANDS Produced by IECO are rated at static dissipative. They are used widely for packaging, product movement, kitting, bundling of tube rails, boards and most activities which take place after packaging, and are especially useful in disclosing dirt or improper use of the rubberband since they are white.

They are conveniently packaged in hermetically sealed ESD safe bags by pounds, kilos and quantities.

BLACK RUBBERBANDS Produced by IECO are rated at conductive and are used not only as described above but are useful in maintaining a safe electrical potential under conditions which do not have ionization or a safely controlled atmosphere.

They are frequently used for grouping containers carrying, wafers to be diced, unpackaged parts, delivery to wire bonding, separating finished and unfinished parts while testing and for uses around computers which control equipment where the CRT or other electrical conditioning equipment could impose a static charge on products or carriers.

BLACK RUBBERBANDS are delivered in hermetically sealed ESD safe bags, conveniently packaged by pounds, kilos or quantities.

EPDM RUBBERBANDS are manufactured from synthetic materials, they are tough and rugged and will withstand many times the load of natural rubber. EPDM rubberbands are impregnated with carbon and will maintain their conductivity even over high temperature excursions. Examples of the function of these bands include holding parts in place for soldering operations and long term durability during high and low temperature testing.

 EPDM RUBBERBANDS are manufactured with an engineered internal stopping point for stretch. This feature prevents over-stretching and thereby prevents particulation of the conductive materials in the rubberband from reaching sensitive products.

IN ADDITION EPDM rubberbands also are immune to UV radiation and ozone. These characteristics allow them to be used not only in exotic production and test areas where these elements exist but also for extended periods outdoors, underground, in radioactive environments, in clean areas or other critical locations for various manufacturing, testing and experiments.
